Do not call our office in regards to collateral. Collateral is only processed via e-mail.
You must e-mail us at: polakoff@polakoffbail.com to reach the collateral department.
Steps to Return Collateral
Step 1 – send an e-mail to polakoff@polakoffbail.com and include the below:
full name of defendant
full case number of case(s)
county of which case(s) was in
This procedure is put in place for clarity and efficiency to make sure collateral is returned in a timely manner. It takes up to 4 weeks to return collateral based on availabilty of a certificate discharge of bond.
Some case(s) are sealed, and we as bail agents do not have access to request a discharge of bond. It’s up to the defendant to contact the clerk of court, and retrieve a certificate discharge of bond when/if necessary.
Emailing is the only way to communicate with the collateral department. Calling the office will not process your return properly. The collateral department will e-mail back to the received e-mail if there is an issue with returning the collateral.
The collateral department, after looking into the collateral return, will e-mail back ‘BEING PROCESSED’. This may take a few days, please check within 1 month for the return. The collateral department will always try to expedite ASAP, but they are at the mercy of the clerk of courts and insurance companies. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail back during the 1-month time frame to see if the return has been processed completely.
The general staff does not know if collateral has been processed.
If you call the office they will not be able to assist with any collateral return.
E-mail the collateral department only please.
E-mails are only monitored Wednesday – Saturday normal business hours (9 – 5). Sunday – Tuesday, and Holidays they are not monitored.
